Friendly | Honest | Reliable | Spunky | Honest | Short-tempered | Bossy | Stubborn | Impatient

Mimi is by all accounts a friendly woman who is simple and straightforward in every way. She wears her heart on her sleeve, and her emotions are wildly transparent on her face. Happiness is expressed in big smiles and wild laughter, while her anger involves a lot of unintelligible strangled noises and pointed fingers. She's the type who cries a river at all the right places at the movies, screams at all the jump scares, and has no qualms leaping to her feet and clapping enthusiastically at the very end. Honesty is of the utmost importance to her, and Mimi has no time for lies and tricks- expecting the same from others and frowning deeply upon excuses and any other foolishness of the sort. Her honesty comes hand in hand with her hard working nature, making her generally reliable for most things that people need done. Mimi isn't one to let someone down if she can help it-- but while she can be generous and compassionate, she is also bossy and stubborn. She has a tendency to bark orders at everyone around her when things aren't going the way she thinks they should, and she can be rather inflexible in her ways. Her ire is very easily inspired, and she can get tetchy about the slightest things. Thankfully, her mood swings are so extreme that she can hardly ever hold a grudge, and usually she's forgotten all about whatever she was mad about by the next day.

History: For the better part of her life, Mimi and her younger brother lived under the care of her grandfather due to her parents' work in the City making them unable to care for them full time. The jolly but somewhat irresponsible old man owned a small laundromat in which Mimi spent the chief of her time helping her aged guardian and their aged neighbors who owned a public bath. Such were the peaceful days of her childhood, scolding her brother for getting in all kinds of trouble and her grandfather for not taking his medicine. School was of little consequence, and she hardly attended because finances were always tight even with the money sent home by her parents-- and somebody, usually her, had to chase down her rebellious sibling. There was simply no time to sit for 8 hours in a classroom. She dropped out as soon as she could, uninterested in education and preferring to work instead so she could save money for her grandfather's medical bills and her brother's impending university fees. Despite his objections, he finally acquiesced to go. Thunderstruck at the actual price of tuition, housing, and everything else that would have to be paid for, the task would've been too daunting to accomplish until her grandfather contributed to the cause as well, selling his laundromat and going into a long overdue retirement. Though it was practically highway robbery, Mimi insisted her brother go- and refused to hear of him working while in school, demanding perfect marks instead.

Four years later with the last of her brother's university fees mostly paid off, Mimi pulled out an unexpected (and rather childish) letter from her mail box, extolling a place named Toffee Town. It boasted free rent, and a guaranteed job, amongst which was an option of a bathhouse worker. Having worked at the public bath next-door to her grandfather's laundromat after the latter closed down, she recognized the work as agreeable, and more suitable for her than laundering peoples' dirty underwear. But dismissing the letter as a prank (because nothing in the world is free), she tossed it in the trash. ... And an hour later, uncrumpled it and reread it, confirming it again as an irrevocable joke. And put it in the trash again.

At length, the letter finally won the long battle, and with encouragement from her family to do something for herself, she hopped onto the train a nervous wreck to leave home for the first time ever.

Additional Info:

- She gets lost easily, mostly because she's never lived in a place other than her hometown before.

- She's afraid of spiders and cockroaches, but she's not afraid of smashing the ever loving life out of them. If she sees one, there will be much screaming, and much death.

- She can't use magic at all, but loves seeing other people use it.

- She got mistaken for a boy a lot, and so started the habit of wearing a hairband to make her look cuter. Unfortunately, this tends to make her look even younger than she already looks, which is another sensitive spot for her.

- Loves alcohol. Loves getting smashed. Is a very very happy drunk.

- Can't write or read very well. She can do it, but her skill is pretty elementary.

- This is a typical example of Mimi's casual clothes outside of work. ( sta.sh/0mst7mz8bx5 )
