Ever a soft-spoken young man, Luca is a sweet-natured person who is well attuned to treasuring things while he still has them. He is thoughtful and observant- always staying on his toes when it comes to the feelings and wants of those around him. Being good humored and quick to smiles, Luca is easy to be around and he can be quite the comforting companion. But he is weak-willed, often going with the flow and bending to the wishes of others even when he does not entirely agree with them. He is also highly sensitive to others' opinions and words, taking things far too close to heart and sometimes getting his feelings hurt over nothing at all. In this sense, he is highly insecure and sports a rather low confidence. But he tries to keep these feelings of negativity to himself, not wanting to burden others with his problems out of a fear of driving them away.

Track description/interpretation: Safe & Sound has always had a feeling of protection and acceptance for me. Like just, in general being able to have the capacity to say that everything will be okay in the end even if things are hard now...! I imagined someone who had a sort of 'guardian' kind of aura to them, gentle and relatable, but care-worn from bearing their burdens and somewhat incapable of taking control. For Luca specifically, I made him someone who wants to protect and help others but is actually quite vulnerable himself- noted by the fact that the song encourages someone to close their eyes to the 'war outside our door keeps raging on', and I see the singer being the one to face that in their stead. He's just the kind of person who's trying to look out for everybody's best interest but isn't quite capable of doing that for himself.

Track history: Luca is a lullaby with a penchant for losing the things he cares about the most through various circumstances. From the very start, he seemed to be a magnet for unfortunate events, but thankfully he was afforded the capacity to understand that there's nowhere to go but up from rock bottom, and to understand that there are things outside of his control that he can do nothing more than accept. He spends his days carefully treasuring what he has before it, inevitably, disappears. These principles have spawned some questionable episodes and associations in his life that may belie his harmless exterior, but he keeps a tight lid on these escapades.

He's spent most of his life going with the flow rather than fighting it or trying to shape his own life, and so has a bit of a cynical outlook that he tries to keep to himself. The appearance of the DJ and the Sound Engineer make him uneasy, and he has made efforts to stay as neutral as possible-- unsure of which path to take-- or whether to take a path at all. He tries to stay away from anything that might sweep him off his feet and land him in a situation he can't get out of, and the DJ and the Sound Engineer both fall into that category....

ZIRO: Luca's first serious relationship- their time together and their split shaped much of Luca's personality today, for better and for worse. He has a hard time keeping up with ZIRO now that he has been remixed, and fears this 'new' ZIRO may find him boring and uninteresting. He seems to project this discomfort and insecurity onto all remixed songs, and so finds himself uncomfortable around them for how they remind him of his old flame.

Cygnus: A friend from when Luca was in university, the duo found friendship in their shared tendency of sitting in the back of their class and sleeping through lecture. Though Luca ended up not passing that course, he visits Cygnus' bar for a drink every now and then, and in return Cygnus prods Luca out of his comfort zone every now and then, encouraging him to tag along with his reckless abandon!

Lucia: A friend he met through Minoru, Lucia is a sweet girl who he tries to look out for. But he can't help but feel like she's the one looking out for him sometimes....

Minoru: A model that Luca did a photoshoot for in the past- they became good friends after finding out they were neighbors, and Luca tries to keep an eye out for Minoru's best interests. He finds great amusement in trying to find the boy a good partner in life, though he's not entirely serious about his efforts so much as he's just teasing the younger man.

- He wears a pair of horn-rimmed glasses for reading.
- Though he enjoys it and is often seen with a book, he struggles with reading and often falls asleep due to slow progress.
- He can however, read music very well.
- He once would panic at the sound of thunder, but has since convinced himself to be, if nothing else, composed when it occurs.
- A bit technologically challenged... struggles with cellphones and other such devices.
- He still uses an old fashioned camera and develops the film in a black room manually.
- He has a golden retriever named Daisy so that he's never alone for too long...!
- He pursued photography as a profession but did not succeed due to various complications. He still dabbles in photography as a hobby.
