Age Five: At five years old, Terik is well-loved and spoiled rotten. He's well behaved for the most part since he wants to please his parents and be praised. He's got big dreams to be a tough warrior of the Northern Water Tribe like his Father and he's being instilled with very traditional values.

Age Thirteen: Pre-teen years, turbulent and uncertain. Terik is a mischievous bratface, the kind of kid who likes to wreak havoc and do things that get his blood pumping and his adrenaline rushing. He walks the fine line between fun and danger, and is constantly getting in trouble between skipping waterbending lessons, breaking hearts, and rebelling against his parents' "old-fashioned" ways. He gets along well with his little sister, but thinks she's a goody-goody two shoes.

Age Seventeen: At this age Terik should be betrothed, but the girl he'd been planning to propose to all his life is promised to someone else before he gets the chance to give her the necklace he made. He's pretty crushed, but he doesn't want to complicate her life by making her choose. At the same time, he's not about to stick around and watch her be happy with another guy, and he's not going to let his parents to pick a bride for him-- so he changes his life plans and instead of using his mastery of waterbending to become a Northern Water Tribe warrior, he takes off to see the world. Eventually he settles in Republic City, using his skills as muscle-for-hire in turf wars or extra security for the Red Monsoons.

Age 25: Terik is now, for the most part, over his failed teenage love and goes back to the Northern Water Tribe once a year for a few reasons. One being that he really does love his hometown, two being to shut his unhappy parents up, as their only son ended up being some reject in the city instead of a respected warrior. (Not to mention he's 25 and he's not even married, let alone having kids.) He works odd jobs and doesn't spend as much time with the gangs anymore, but lives in a flat on top of a gambling house run by the mafiosos, so he still gets mixed up in fights every now and then.

My only other headcanons for Terik don't extend too far into the future, because it's just so difficult to imagine him being willing to go steady with someone, let alone getting married. He's so put-off from relationships thanks to all of his past ones crashing and burning, and he's still hanging onto that necklace he made when he was 17, so it'd be so much work to convince him to put his energy into committing himself to someone else that it's not even really worth it LOL buuuut I mean we'll see if someone can get past all that thorny headcanon of mine and convince him that the single life isn't the best thing since satomobiles.

Basically wanted to do child!Terik and thought WHY NOT DO THE OTHER AGES WHILE I'M AT IT. Helped me flesh out his background quite a bit, so it was quite fun.

And I changed Terik's colors a little bit in order to fit better with the adult attire of the Northern Water Tribe. I'll update his sign-up with the darker colors.... later OTL
